Paying for Beauty School Is Possible
Want to go to beauty school but worried about the cost? At College of Cosmetology, financial aid is available to those who qualify! You can choose from a variety of payment options, including grants, loans, and scholarships, so don’t let the cost of school hold you back!
How To Apply For Financial Aid
When researching possible sources for funding post-secondary education, we recommend first exploring grants, scholarships, and other employment options, as you don’t have to pay any of them back! They are essentially free money that you can use toward funding your education.
As a first step to applying for financial aid, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). Completing the FAFSA® is easy!
Remember to include our school code 014006 when completing the online application!
All student financial aid program applications at College of Cosmetology begin with the completion and submission of the FAFSA® form. This form comes with a complete set of instructions for completion. The application should be completed with the help of a parent if you are a “dependent” student.
Once the FAFSA® is submitted online, the College of Cosmetology Financial Aid Office will receive an electronic copy from the federal government and begin estimating a potential award for the prospective student, including aid available to the student. An admissions representative will contact you with further details or you can contact the admissions office directly if you have any additional questions.
Who Is Eligible for Financial Aid?
Student federal aid is determined based on financial need, which is the difference between the student’s cost of education and the family’s (or student’s) ability to pay those costs. The educational costs for the student federal aid programs are based on the student’s tuition, fee charges, living situation, and other factors that affect the student. The student’s ability to contribute toward these costs, as measured by the amount of the expected family contribution also contribute to what you may qualify for.
Scholarship Information
Paying for school is possible through the help of scholarships, too! There are a variety of scholarships available specifically for beauty school students from other organizations like Beauty Changes Lives. College of Cosmetology offers scholarships as well.
We offer scholarships to one student at each local high school, and applications are available at your school or directly from us. The scholarship is good for the cosmetology program and can be used toward tuition.
To apply, talk to our team to get the application form and answer the related questions in an essay format. You’ll also need to include additional documents, such as two letters of reference and a copy of your high school transcript. These must be sent by May 1st. The recipient of the scholarship will be notified by May 31st of each year.
